Lisbet Velazquez was born and raised in Cuba and came to the United States at the age of 17.
In the relatively short time since coming to the United States, Ms. Velazquez has, impressively, earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida as well as her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard College of Law.
While in Law School, Ms. Velazquez earned a spot on the Dean's list twice, was a member of the Cuban American Bar Association and the Hispanic Law Student Association. She also interned for the Honorable Judge Don Cohn, County Court Judge of the 11th Judicial Circuit in and for Miami-Dade County and served as a Certified Legal Intern at the Public Miami-Dade County Public Defender's Office.
Ms. Velazquez joined Mena Law Firm in 2015 and represents policyholders and insureds throughout the insurance claims process and has represented clients in their fire, water, windstorm, auto, residential and commercial insurance claims.
