Attorney Lissette Cancio, Of Counsel
Lissette Cancio works as Of Counsel for Mena Law Firm. Ms. Cancio attended Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, where she graduated in
2001. She has been an attorney for over 15 years and has litigated on both sides. Her main focus of law has been insurance, initially defending the carrier and eventually would move on to Plaintiff work defending the rights of insureds in both Personal Injury Protection and Homeowner Claims. Being able to experience what the insurance carriers do when claims are processed then litigated, Ms. Cancio decided that defending the rights of the insureds was more important than defending the decisions of the carriers to deny the claims.
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, with Cuban immigrant parents, Ms. Cancio was the first to graduate college in her family. First attending Miami Dade College with a full paid scholarship and then transferring to the University of Miami, where she would obtain her Bachelor's Degree in English Literature. Coming from a working class family, Ms. Cancio worked her way through college and and through law school in various law firms from receptionist, legal assistant and paralegal.
Ms. Cancio knows how to handle these insurance cases for her clients as she has a profound knowledge of the law and is ready to litigate these matters all the way to jury trial if needed. She has extensive experience in the court room having tried close to hundred cases all the way to jury verdict.
Ms. Cancio is a member of the Florida Bar and is licensed to practices in Florida and in Federal Court.
