Ileana Ruiz Zapico is a Partner at Mena Law Firm and the Head of the Real Estate and Probate Practice Groups of Mena Law Firm.
Ms. Zapico specializes in assisting and representing individuals with their needs in the areas of real estate, estate planning and probate administration. She helps those not only looking to purchase their first new home but also the savvy, residential or commercial real estate investor with their development, planning, sales, and management of their real estate property goals and project properties.
Her real estate practice includes representing buyers and sellers in purchase and sale transactions of residential and commercial properties, ensuring title to the property is clear and marketable, representing residential and commercial buyers in land acquisitions and land development, She also represents individual and business in their business acquisitions, preparation and negotiations of lease agreements, landlord and tenant disputes and represents of developers and condominium association boards.
Ms. Zapico also helps those in need of establishing the right estate plan specifically created and designed for that client’s needs and goals. She has a delicate touch to assist those who have just recently lost their loved ones. She listens and cares for her Clients while rigorously addressing and defending all legal concerns and ensuring her client’s rights and benefits are met.
Each estate plan is unique depending on the needs and particular wishes of the individual, and, as such, Ms. Zapico has created and crafted a vast array of plans from the simple will to the complex trust; each and every one addressing her individual client’s needs and goals with the protections required to assure those wishes are kept.
Ms. Zapico was born and raised in Miami, Florida, graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University in the year 2000.
Her love for the area of real estate and construction was inspired by her father, a general contractor with over 40 years of experience. At her father’s side, she learned how to build and engineer homes and, resultantly, her love grew not only in regards to construction but to a fascination of the rules and laws surrounding the construction of new homes and commercial shopping centers. Her knowledge in this area has assisted her in the representation of many both home buyers and developers alike; providing all with this invaluable knowledge.
In her free time, Ms. Zapico spends her time enjoying her love for travel and the outdoors with her family and three beautiful girls.
